Cyber Advisor Consultation

Free Cyber Essentials guidance from an NCSC-assured Cyber Advisor

If you're unsure where to start with Cyber Essentials, a Cyber Advisor consultation can help.

In a short consultation, you’ll get clear advice on your current cybersecurity posture and the steps that will most improve your protection.

What is a Cyber Advisor consultation?

A Cyber Advisor consultation is a 30–45 minute session with an NCSC-assured Cyber Advisor designed to help small organisations understand and implement the Cyber Essentials security controls.

The session focuses on practical, actionable guidance so you can better understand:

How your organisation currently aligns with Cyber Essentials
→ The key security improvements that will strengthen your defences
→ What steps you should take next to improve your cyber resilience

Whether you're exploring Cyber Essentials for the first time or looking to improve your current security posture, the consultation will give you a clear starting point.

What you’ll get from the session

During the consultation, your Cyber Advisor will:

✔ Review your current cybersecurity setup

✔ Explain how it maps to the five Cyber Essentials controls

✔ Identify the most important improvements for your organisation

✔ Provide guidance on your next steps toward Cyber Essentials

The goal is to give you clear, practical advice you can act on immediately.

Preparing for your consultation

This allows the advisor to review your responses and provide more targeted guidance during the session.
If you haven’t completed the assessment yet, that’s completely fine - the consultation can still provide useful high-level advice.
